being a regular,i would like to know why fred is letting in scum on matchdays when he said he didnt want that sort of clientel.i can see what a money-grabbing two-faced f**k he is now.also heard millwall are too scared to turn up here incase jean is working.grrrrrr!

just to let everyone know i have worked at the brickies some time ago.apart from some very strange goings on with the family set-up,when the kitchen was closed some years ago for 'decoration',it was actually for infestation! true!! think next time you fancy some extras on your burger.

i feel i have to reply about my pub.it is not true that hazel shagged mick richardson, andy bridges etc. nor is it true that any girl coming for a job has to get on my casting couch.well maybe! nor is it true my daughter slept with the regulars at the bar in a clockwise formation.well only upto 10 o clock.and thats nothing, did you know stuck up jeans daughter strips for a living, pound in the jar apparently. must go now as have to count my next shilling, every penny counts to a jew like me,bye.

Why dont you all give up the game. It is obvious you are the most unpopular couple at running a pub. |Please give some one else a chance and maybe the locals will be happier.I will even buy hazel a new broom,

you are wrong jean is no dictator ,there is only one taker of dick down that pub and goes under the name of denzil ( NEW BALLS PLEASE ).
Posted by ex-pat2 — 20/07/2008 at 3:48
that's unfair.jean is only miserable as a family member died at auschwich.apparently he fell from the watchtower! and that's nothing,i've heard that all the people who have smiled in there are locked in the cellar until fred makes another million.great place for a dump though as you can go in one door, use the bog and take a short cut to mile end road, and carry on upto the dog and pheasant!

where do i start? is jean 'the dictator' stalin still there? always been a clean pub but bar staff's sense of humour is just as sterile! the only pub in history never to have a late one,as fitting in with salin's regime.the beer seems to go up 30p a go after each budget aswell, and when asking erica for more head you might just get it.beer still flat though! very popular with sandle wearing, guardian reading, lentil eaters though.

The Bricklayers is a nice pub. The real ales are well kept and enjoyable. It is a shame that it doesnt open till 5.30 in the evenings. The food is lovely especially the Sunday lunches. There does seem to be a big pool of "locals" but shows it is a good pub. Dont get put off by the two fat bikers at the end of the bar, there were very polite to me and my wife, even if they did swear a lot.

I worked in Colchester, near the Bricklayers, for almost ten years, and spent most lunch-times in the Brickies with friends and colleagues from the office. The food was of high quality and the beers and wine were excellent. Fred and Hazel were superb hosts, particularly Hazel, who had a superb sense of humour. Their children, Erica and Shane? were pleasant and friendly. I was made redundant from my job and now work in Chelmsford and very much miss the Bricklayers. I now drink at lunch-times in Pincho's Tapas Bar, Baddow Road, Chelmsford. I can highly recommend it if you are visiting Chelmsford.

I have to say, after reading the below which I happen to find shocking. What the hell is everyone talking about. I am in the Bricklayers a few nights of the week and I find it a nice friendly, local pub!!! The Landlord and Landlady are lovely but say things how they are! If people dont like drinking in there perhaps they should find somewhere else!
Posted by absent minded — 17/09/2007 at 20:48
well where shall i start.
the people that drink in
this pub are an excellent bunch !!
The landlord however is a dirty old pervert!!
and if u dont flirt back with him he will, proceed by kicking you out of the pub blaming it on the amount you have had to drink.
seen him do this on numerous occasions, disgusted by it!!
why own a pub if you cant have a laugh and yes the son does serve a "good coke"
as ive heard many o' times!!!
